2011 Attractions

Friday October 28

7am Showground gates open.  Cars to enter via McGhee St Gate and Sale-Maffra Rd Gate.  When all inside parking is taken no further vehicles will be permitted, including Show Ticket holders.

8:30 am Arena horse events commence.

9am Great National Carrot Cake competition judging open to public. Begins with schools then open and professional at 1 pm.

Sheep Dog Trials commence on Perce Martin Arena.

10am Sideshows open featuring all the usual rides and attractions, running until late evening.

Kids Zone:  Professor Wallace’s Puppet Theatre, face-painting, animal nursery and more.

Continues all day.

10am Students' Cook-Off commences in the Nicholls Pavilion.

1pm Exhibition Pavilion opens (door opening depends upon completion of judging).

Friday Night Carnival

6pm Spectacular night carnival begins.

Sponsored by Turnbulls Gippsland, Coates Hire, GBG Concrete, Glenns Transport, DMG Financial, Blast Masters/PFD Foods and the Sale and District Greyhound Racing Club.

Features Toyota HiLux Heroes precision driving team,

Sammy Xuereb's Monster Truck attempting a World Record for distance on rear wheels,

exciting Polocrosse Match, Flag and Barrel Races, Shetland Steeplechase, Barrel Race, Stake Race

and more.

9pm Timing depends upon daylight – brilliant Dyers Transport fireworks display.

9pm until late – sideshows in full swing.

Saturday October 29

7am Gates open.  Public car entry same as Friday.

8am Sheep Dog Trials continue.  Horse events commence.

9am Exhibition pavilion opens.

9.30am Animal judging begins: Beef Cattle, Dairy Cattle, Boer Goats, poultry, alpacas

and, for the first time in 50 years, pigs.

10am Sideshows commence.

Pet Parade in Kids Zone.

11.30 am Open Dog Show in Kids Zone – open to all breeds including cross breeds.

12pm Registrations open for

Tiny Tots, Junior Showgirl, Pre-Teen Showgirl, Miss Teenage Showgirl, Junior Showman and Master Showman quests

in Committee Rooms adjacent to Arena of Honour.

Judging at 1 pm.

3:30 pm Public viewing at the Exhibition Pavilion closes.

Ongoing throughout the Show: Sideshow alley, Kids Zone, Arena events, Trade displays, Heyfield vintage engines.
